The Largest Environmental Experiment to Determine the Temperature, Pollution, and Oxygen Levels of the Seas Surrounding Türkiye: Encouraging Public Participation in Scientific Processes through Citizen Science

map_last

As part of the SHORE project, a large environmental experiment will be conducted to determine the temperature, pollution, and oxygen levels of the seas surrounding Türkiye. This experiment will involve students and teachers from 9 coastal provinces in the country. The aim is to collect detailed data on the current state of our seas, raise awareness of environmental issues, and develop solutions.

Participants in the experiment will measure and report sea water temperature, pollution levels, and oxygen content. Students and teachers will receive necessary training on how to conduct environmental measurements and evaluate the data. The collected data will be analyzed by scientists to create a comprehensive report on the current state of our seas and potential environmental threats we may face in the future.

This project not only aims to gather information on the health of our seas but also to encourage public participation in scientific processes through citizen science. By doing so, we aim to enhance environmental awareness among young generations, increase their interest in scientific studies, and enable them to play a more active role in solving environmental problems.

This step towards the protection and sustainable management of our seas will significantly contribute to preserving our country's natural resources and equipping our future generations with environmental consciousness.
